2013 Walking Programe

It’s a pleasure to welcome you to the 9th Annual Prestatyn & Clwydian Range Walking Festival which continues to grow each year attracting visitors from all over the UK and overseas. Prestatyn and the surrounding area is a wonderful base for walking enthusiasts offering good access to the Wales Coastal Path, Offa’s Dyke National Trail, North Wales Path and Clwydian Way as well as many local and varied walking routes.

It continues to build upon its Walkers are Welcome status, the first town in Wales to be awarded this prestigious accolade in 2007. We will once again be providing 3 days of walking opportunities and activities that will provide you with the opportunity to explore, learn more and enjoy the unique surroundings that Prestatyn and the Clwydian AONB has to Offa.

The general theme for 2013 is Walking Through Time. This year’s carefully put together programme Offas something for everyone – our renowned Offa’s Dyke Path 40 mile Challenge, Clwydian Range Explorer, Journey to Worlds End, an evening meal and walk, geocaching, Nordic walking, hillside, woodland and coastal walks and a variety of themed historical walks i.e. The Search for the City of Varae, The Lost Roman Station. There is also an evening talk and presentation and our host venue offers refreshments in a cafe style atmosphere where you can sit, relax and talk about and plan your walking adventures.
